PORT FACILITY SECURITY OFFICERS (PFSO) COURSE
Duration: 10 days
The Port Facility Security (PFSA) and appropriate shore based company
personnel should have knowledge of, and receive training, in all (or
some - for security personnel) of the following, as appropriate:

- Structural integrity
- Personnel protection systems
- Procedural policies
- Radio and telecommunication systems, including computer systems and networks
- Analysis of dangers
- Planning of security array
- Planning and performing exercises
- Investigating and questioning suspects
- Physical search and search of luggage and vehicles
- Searching methods of luggage
- Cooperation with national and civil security factors
- Enlistment, categorization, professional teaching and guiding for guards and security companies
- Writing of working and security procedures
- Knowledge of means of sabotage, arms and dangerous materials
- Control, supervising and current exercising of the facilities in the ports
- Procedures for combing and looking for means of sabotage in the facilities
- Procedure for evacuating people and workers during emergency situations
- Port organization in emergency situations
- Operating alertness teams in the ports
- Organization of the security system in evacuated regions and centralization of people
- Use of microphones for evacuation and relaying messages to the people
- Preparedness for a massive attack
- Cooperation with the security and municipal relief forces during a multi-injury event
- Treatment of injured - evacuating people caught in wreckage
- Cooperation with security factors in adjacent facilities
