Sample Program POLICE SERVICE DOG SEMINAR / NARCOTICS & EXPLOSIVE DOG SEMINAR
Goal: To Focus on the role of handlers in Terrorist and security operations and improve K9 team work. Upgrading the capabilities of handlers and their dogs, by exercising their typical and routine work. By doing so, instructors will be able to correct common mistakes that being done often by handlers.
Main subjects for standard 5 day program
- Improving bite work
- Focusing on correct use of the leash
- Showing how to correct a dog
- Demonstrating and showing how to correct Handler's mistakes
- The use of a pre-search
- Special aspects of conditioning
- The advantages of training with real explosives/ narcotics
- Diffusion and the importance of training
- How to hide sniffers in the most efficient way
- Other subjects in accordance with trainee progress
This is a working seminar but The work includes both common lessons , demonstrations, and individual training, while each trainee learns about himself and about his dog, in addition to knowledge learned by other trainee. Around 90% of the time will be practice and the rest theoretical.
