Past Conferences
This conference was originally conceived in 2005 in an atmosphere of heightened concern over the threat of terror incidents following thwarted plots in New Jersey and New York. With this in mind, the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office joined forces with Security Solutions International to hold a week long conference dedicated to providing qualified attendees with a good background on how this enemy works and the modus operandi we should be looking for. Not only was this important for Florida whose very economic existence relies heavily on tourism, but for anyone concerned with detecting, preventing or responding to acts of terror. The Sarasota Sheriffs Office has been extremely proactive in fighting the War on Terror, and now, while preparing this fourth consecutive event, the need for a comprehensive understanding of these ever changing threats can be easily be felt by recent events around the world and attacks against US interests. The 2009 Conference will once again provide law enforcement, first responders and all security professionals face-to-face interaction and the latest information and technologies that will empower them to protect and ensure the safety of our nation
