This two day seminar is designed to provide:

With a very good understanding of terrorism and its potential effect on any building or facility. This is a two-day program. The first day's modules will be an extensive overview of the terror threat, particularly as it effects buildings and public safety. The second day will be dedicated to providing a very detailed overview of measures to be taken to ensure that buildings are safe. SSI is proud for this course to team up with one of the leading experts in the US today, The first day will be presented by SSI's Israeli presentation team and include extensive case studies and video footage.

After getting a through grounding in the modus operandi of terrorists, the emphasis on the second day will shift to carefully cover the basics of building safety and procedures that should be followed.


Day 1 -

One of SSI's Terror experts, highly qualified former members of the Israel Police, IDF or Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) will present day 1 on:

1. Definition of the Terror Threat
2. A brief History of the use of Terror against Buildings
3. Different Terror groups and their modus operandi
4. Recognizing a Suicide Terrorist and/or Terror attack
5. Bombs and bomb making
6. The Israeli "Circles" concept of Security
7. Planning your security
8. Training team members
9. Working with Law Enforcement
10. Incident management and force safety

Exercise: Thinking like a terrorist- Blue and Red Teams- Conducting surveillance and planning an attack against a target. Second group will plan the defense of the target.

Day 2-  

1. Designing Safe Infrastructure with CPTED
2. Participants will identify the key infrastructure elements within their built environment
3. Understanding the threat posed by terrorism and other criminal threats
4. Once the elements are identified the level of threat and risks will be discussed to develop the appropriate response and protective strategies
5. Protecting the infrastructure
6. Specific tactical approaches will be discussed and demonstrated using mechanical physical security, organizational operational methods, and natural architectural methods for improving the security and making the environment less vulnerable to attack.
7. The 10 most important things you need to know in security for buildings
8. Technologies for blast mitigation
